Your Natural ‘Filter’

The 4 Stage illumiFacial Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

1. Cleanse

The first step in achieving clear, healthy, radiant skin will involve a deep cleanse, with your illumiFacial® practitioner using a specialist formulation to remove any impurities.

2. Tri-Fruit Acid Peel

Following a deep cleanse, a unique Tri-Fruit Acid Lynton Fruit Peel will be applied to your skin, for anywhere between 3 - 10 minutes. This peel resurfaces skin texture and decongests pores, priming the skin ready for stage 3 of illumiFacial®.

3. Lynton IPL

Post fruit peel, your skin will be at its optimum condition for the application of the award-winning Lynton Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment. This works by both stimulating collagen and targeting any discolouration on your skin, e.g. freckles, pigmentation, vascular breakouts, general redness. In most cases, the results are instant, providing you with dramatically clearer, firmer skin.

4. Hydrate & Protect

To help maximise the results you’re of your illumiFacial® treatment, a trio of specialist serums will be applied to your skin post-IPL, helping soothe, regenerate and protect your skin.

VASCULAR TREATMENT

VASCULAR TREATMENT
Facial thread veins or broken red veins (telangiectasia) are small unsightly superficial red, purple or blue veins that occur around the nose and across the cheeks and chin.  These broken veins occur when the vein dilates and become larger so they are visible through the transparency of the skin.  Although facial veins / spider veins are quite common they can cause some distress and embarrassment for those who have them.
Facial veins may be hereditary or as a result of a variety of factors including damage from sun exposure, wind and the extremes of temperature.  The over use of steroid creams and certain auto immune conditions may also induce thread veins.  Often the exact cause is unknown and may just be part of the natural ageing process or as a part of a skin condition called rosacea.
Facial vessels are effectively treated with Intense Pulse Light (IPL) or laser with minimal downtime or risk in just a few quick, easy treatments.
Treatment is suitable for you if you want to:
  • Reduce overall facial redness and reduce blushing
  • Be rid of embarrassing broken veins or red spots
  • Have clearer, brighter, fresher looking skin
  • Suitable for face, neck and chest

How does the treatment work on red vessels ?

Light energy is applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed by blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

How is the treatment carried out?

The light applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated. During treatment, protective eyewear will be provided.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Treatment is suitable for most people. Best results are obtained for those with fair skin, and there is less chance of side effects.

How does the treatment feel?

Treatment is mildly uncomfortable but there is no need for anaesthesia and the procedure is actually quite quick. Sensations vary but most describe it as a very quick hot pin prick.

Are there any side effects?

After treatment the area may feel warm for a few hours. Rarely, some delicate skin areas such as the cheeks or décolleté can be red and slightly swollen for up to 48 hours. Though very rare, there is a chance a small blister may form and there could be temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.

How long does each Red Vein treatment take?

Treatments typically take from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the type and size of lesion.

Which types of veins can be treated?

Most red skin lesions, including facial thread veins, rosacea, spider naevi, and port wine stains, can be treated very successfully. Depending on the lesions, leg vessels can also respond well to treatment.

How many Red Vein treatments are necessary?

Typically 3 to 5 treatments are needed for optimum results, though small lesions may clear in just a single session. Repeat treatments are spaced every 4 to 6 weeks. Consultation Procedure Prior to treatment you must first undergo a consultation where details about your medical history are obtained in order to confirm suitability. Before proceeding you will be asked to sign a consent form and undergo a test patch.

Pigmentation Treatment with IPL

Pigmented lesions such as age spots or freckles can be successfully lightened or removed with our EXCELIGHT (IPL ). All of these treatments are non-invasive, suitable for both the face and body and will result in a more even skin tone.
Sun spots, liver spots, freckles and other unwanted pigmentation are often associated with skin ageing and over exposure to the sun or sunbeds. From the age of about 40 the skin is less able to regenerate from sun exposure and age spots start to appear. Generally these age spots pose no health risk, however they can be unsightly and create a patchy, less youthful appearance. Freckling and age spots are successfully lightened or removed with Intense Pulse Light.
Not all pigmentation concerns are as a result of sun exposure and some people are born with pigmented birthmarks or may have melasma, a skin pigmentation condition often associated with pregnancy or hormones.
IPL or Intense Pulse Light skin rejuvenation and pigment removal treatment is a relatively quick and easy procedure. Age spots and freckles can be lightened or removed in as little as one to three treatment sessions.
Treatment is suitable for you if:
  • You want a more even skin tone
  • You want to reduce areas of excess freckling
  • You want to target a specific age spot

How does the treatment work on Pigmentation ?

Light is released in short pulses that are readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within pigmented lesions. The rapid absorption of light energy heats the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin-rich cells.

Am I suitable for pigmentation treatment?

Most people are suitable for treatment except for very dark skinned or tanned individuals. However, large, dark, mottled or raised pigmentation cannot be treated and may need to be checked by a dermatologist. Large, dark moles should not be treated, nor should lesions covering a large part of the body. The pigmented marks that respond the best are superficial lesions such as those caused by sun damage (sun spots) and freckles.

What should I expect after the treatment?

The treated area may feel warm and sensitive for the first few days post treatment. The lesions may darken and may appear more obvious before they fade and ‘flake’ away. Sometimes an initial whitening of the area is seen which quickly fades and the pigment gradually fades over the following few weeks.

Are there any side effects?

The skin that surrounds the pigmented lesion may become red immediately after treatment. Most people experience no other side effects and the redness usually disappears within hours to a few days. Very rarely a small blister may form or the skin may become temporarily lighter or darker.

How long does each Pigmentation treatment take?

The length of each treatment will depend on the type and size of lesion present, but a
typical session will take 10 to 30 minutes.

How many treatments are necessary?

The number of treatments will depend on the type and size of the pigmented lesion but typically 1 to 3 sessions are required at 4 to 6 week intervals.
